Take your garlic bread game to the next level with this homemade cheesy, garlicky loaf for tearing and sharing with friends and family.
Step one:
Preheat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6.
Step two:
Take your loaf and diagonally slice the loaf in both directions in a criss-cross pattern using a bread knife making sure not to cut all the way through.
Step three:
In a bowl combine the softened butter, garlic and finely chopped parsley. Stir to combine well. Using a knife, spread the garlic butter in the diagonal slices ensure you get in all the nooks of the bread.
Step four:
Place the bread on a baking tray before sprinkling over the cheese. Again, you want to ensure all the nooks of the bread are filled with as much cheese as possible so pull them apart gently and poke in the cheese.
Step five:
Place the bread in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes until the loaf is crisp and golden on top and the cheese and butter has melted inside. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with extra parsley and place on a board ready for serving straight to the table.
Cook’s Notes:
For an extra special finish, why not try adding bacon pieces or even crisp onions once baked for added crunch.
